FC Barcelona to Host First Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend

Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome the Bilbao team in the Spanish league over two years since relocating so building work could begin.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside based on approved permits. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.

Preparatory Events

Barça organized a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou on 7 November. They mentioned they are seeking authorization from European football’s governing body to host the next European match facing Eintracht on 9 December in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
