The Streaming Platform is Producing a Popular Game TV Show from the Producers of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The newest action-packed title that gamers explored was Far Cry 6, which showcased Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the antagonist, Antón, and came out on October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it has a reputation for embracing action and mayhem with the same glee, all while presenting gripping, socially charged narratives. No wonder then that FX's decision for a Far Cry seasonal program attracted two producers whose work have represented all of those qualities.

Show Details

Inspired by Ubisoft's hit video game series, the limited anthology series will stream on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The anthology will also parallel the video games' format by featuring a new backdrop and ensemble in subsequent series.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as executive producers on the series under their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared outstanding collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is fresh, engrossing, and extremely entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our associates at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this cherished property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also star in the show, but as of now, we have no details on what part that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just greenlit for a second instalment, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new overall deal with the creator.

“Being able to collaborate with Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably supportive, trusting us with one of the most famous video-game realms ever created. And throughout this process, my FX partners always encourages me with their ongoing belief and backing.”

“What I love about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an standalone series. Every title is a take of a idea, the same way each season of Fargo is a variation on a story,” said Hawley. “To produce a epic action show that can shift from year to year, while always examining the essence of society through this multifaceted and chaotic lens, is a dream come true. I’m eager to partner with Rob and bring our shared bold, daring approach to the television.”

A release window for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
