Two Individuals Accused Regarding Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack
Two men have been charged following a luggage theft where a suspected capsaicin spray caused injuries at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, authorities have stated.
The charges follow an investigation into an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their suitcases taken after exiting a parking garage elevator, police said.
A toddler was one of the people hurt in the event. Several persons were taken to a medical facility and were eventually allowed to go home.
This event – which authorities stated was isolated and not considered a terror-related act – led to train delays and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a brief period.
